Exotic Car Rallies
After having done many rallies all over the world, I’ve got opinions! I feel that car rallies are the most fun an exotic car owner can have. Much better than leaving your Ferrari or Lambo in the garage so you can keep your miles off for the next guy you sell it to. If you’re going to be a rallier (sometimes referred to as a Baller), you must take your attention off putting miles on your car. Would you rather have 30,000 miles of absolute fun in your car or 200 miles on your car just sitting in a garage.
This section is for information, my opinions on the many rallies in the world, Q and A and suggestions on how to really enjoy rallies. From making lifelong friends all over the world, being a rock star to the crowds that cheer you on to just plain having fun.
Here, I will post some of the highlights, photos and videos of past rallies, most that I’ve participated in. A lot of it is just plain silly, but it was all fun. I’ll also post interesting videos and photos from contributors. So, feel free to submit these to me at steve@zumacarsandcoffee.com.
Some of the past rallies I’ve participated in are Gumball 3000, 6 times! Additionally, participated in Gold Rush Rally – many times, Goldfinger/Fuel Run Rally to Monterey, Corsa Rally – many times, Long Tail Rally, Run to Monaco, numerous Ferrari Club Rallies, Players Run, as well as having put on many super car drives and events with custom car legend – George Barris. In 2015, I created the Cannonball Run Rally which is the first (and only) rally to drive from Massachusetts to Key West, Florida then we ended our rally in Havana, Cuba.
They’ve all been fun, but early on I learned that you must be creative, make if fun and most importantly, make friends that you’ll run with during the drive. If you join a rally, don’t just be a spectator waiting for others to recognize your “greatness.” These others will be too busy creating their own fun. Make some noise!
Designing your car with creative car wraps will gain you attention. I know this sounds like you’re being a show-off, but that is truly what you are doing, so admit it! Pranks are not out of the question, if you don’t hurt anyone. I’ve seen as well as created some outrageous pranks.
Do a rally, they’re really fun!

Run to Monaco
Run to Monaco 2018 Rally. Start line in the Swiss Alps ending up at Formula One in Monaco. The most luxurious rally I’ve ever done.
Gumball 3000 2015
Here’s some silly footage of the 2015 Gumball 3000 start line in Stockholm, Sweden and then the finish line in Las Vegas. We are running with World Champion Formula One Driver, Lewis Hamilton and Rocky IV star Dolph Lundgren (Ivan Drago).
Cannonball Run Rally, I founded in 2015. This was the first and only rally to end up in Havana, Cuba. (We had to leave our cars in Key West and go back in time to the 50’s cars).
I am no longer associated with Cannonball.
Gumball DUI. This DUI stop really happened on Gumball 3000 outside of Stockholm Sweden. That country has some of the strictest DUI laws in the world, My co-pilot and I switched places as the send off party the night before was kind of wild. We also had a TV crew riding with us, and already had microphones attached.
2022 Canada Start Line
The start line for Gumball 3000 Rally Toronto, Canada to Miami, Florida.
Goldrush Rally 2014 This was an epic prank done to my Rolls Royce in Chicago on Gold Rush Rally. 2 friends filled my car with packing peanuts while I was sleeping. I had a big surprise in the morning.
Long Tail Rally
Long Tail Rally – Mostly McLarens. This is probably the most peaceful and scenic rally I’ve done in the U.S. Amazing group of people all very welcoming like a family.
